Keith Bosak

Currently teaching Nature-Based Tourism at the University of Montana, Keith received his PhD in Geography from the University of Georgia, and his Master's and undergraduate degrees in Geography at Appalachian State University in North Carolina. He is at his happiest at high altitude with a set of ice tools in his hands. The focus of Keith's research interests and pursuits can be said to investigate how natural resource stewardship and allocation policies of developing countries effect human populations in localized communities. The pursuit of these investigations has taken him to a wide range of geographic locations, where he has studied a diversity of natural resource allocation topics. Keith's dissertation was entitled “The Local Effects of Global Conservation Policy: Political Ecology, environmental justice and the production of scale in the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve, India”. His dissertation was funded by a National Science Foundation Research Grant and an American Alpine Club Research Grant. Keith has also conducted research in the mountainous areas of Nepal, Bolivia, and Argentina.
